Memorial Day 2025 in Virginia Beach: Honoring Our Heroes

Virginia Beach is proud to honor and pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces during a solemn Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 26, 2025, from noon to 1 p.m. This meaningful event will take place at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial, located across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center at 1000 19th St.
A Ceremony to Remember
Hosted by Virginia Beach Mayor Robert "Bobby" Dyer and the Mayor’s Committee for Veterans, this formal ceremony is dedicated to those who "gave their all" in service to our country. Attendees can expect a moving program that includes:

Flyovers honoring the fallen 
- 
A traditional 21-gun salute 
- 
Reading of honored veterans names 
- 
Remarks from distinguished guests 
This event is free and open to the public, inviting all residents and visitors to come together in remembrance and gratitude.
Participation by Military Commands and Organizations
Military commands and organizations are encouraged to participate by bringing wreaths to be placed during the ceremony, symbolizing respect and remembrance on behalf of their groups.
Weather Contingency Plan
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The decision regarding the location will be made on the Friday before the event. Attendees are advised to check the official City of Virginia Beach website and social media channels for the latest updates.
